Needle felting machines have opened up a new and exciting world for textile and quilt artists.

Roving, fabric, fibers, yarns … if it looks like it can be punched or felted it has become fair game for the needle felter.

This class is suitable for beginning machine needle felters as well as those beginning to explore what their needle felting machine is capable of. It takes you on a creative exploration of what is possible with these machines.

Techniques Include:

• Texturizing Fabrics & Backgrounds: Various ways to texturize fabric in order to produce coordinating fabric and texturized fabric backgrounds.
• Layering Techniques: How to work with layered fabrics in order to produce interesting textures, color arrangements and designs.
• Felting: Various techniques for making felt.
• Entrapments: How you can use water soluble stabilizer to make felt, textured fabric pieces, and create designs suitable for art quilts.
