Lesson 1: Let’s start off easy.
The class begins by providing you with an overview of needles, threads and quilting tools. You will then put this theory into practice by preparing some samples using some basic free motion designs; at the same time learning how to adjust and control your stitch length and tension. As well you will learn various ways to transfer designs.

Lesson 2: Let’s get a little more serious . . .
Now that you are all warmed up, this week you’ll explore different designs—filler designs, various feather designs, block designs—as well as learn how using different threads and stitch types can offer interesting and alternative results.

Lesson 3: Now let’s max it out!
Let’s apply the “What if?” principle and experiment with different ways to add visual excitement to your free motion stitching by varying the way you use your stitches and threads, and also by applying some surface design techniques to your stitching using paints and crayons, angelina fiber, and foiling.

Lesson 4: Show us what you got!
This week you’ll learn some basic design theory and then using the design provided with this lesson, or your own personal design, you will make a small project using the techniques you have learned so far.
