Linda Matthews began quilting shortly after arriving in the US in 2001. Originally from Australia, and now a permanent resident of Central Florida, Linda soon found that her passion lay in art quilting.
After much study and many classes on technique and style, Linda soon began teaching at the local quilt shops in her area where she quickly discovered her love of teaching.
In November 2004 Linda was fortunate to be accepted for a position as a National Educator with Janome America, and spent the next two years traveling throughout the US, teaching quilting and sewing to hundreds of students.
Linda currently works as an independent textile artist, designer and teacher and she has recently developed a series of technique-based workshops called the "Creative Textile Workshops". She designed these workshops primarily to encourage personal development in the creative aspect of textile arts, particularly relating to art quilting and wearable art.
Linda has a wealth of experience in all aspects of creative sewing. Her art quilts have toured and been exhibited at various venues throughout the US, and her work and articles are regularly published in national magazines.
